Newsleecher For Mac
Hi, just wondering if you can reccommend some OS X alternatives to the following applications: Newsleecher WinRAR Archiver QuickPar i used to use newsleecher to download material which i'd opened from a.nzb (NewzBin file). I'm positive that 9 times out of 10 i was left with.RAR's as opposed to.ZIP's. So can.RAR's be extracted by program's other than WinRAR?
Also i used an OS app called Unison as an alternative to Newsleecher for a while. But my newshosting account enables me to 8 conncections, but Unison has no preference settings for me to determine how many connections my newshosting account entitles me to. I hope this doesn't sound like complete tosh, and to those that understand what i'm on about understand the processes i'm after can in-turn recommend the right software. Thanks in advance. Click to expand.+1 for NZB Drop. It's a bit unstable under Leopard but it does do the job and does it fast. I've got 40 connections running at the same time and get very fast downloads.
It does hog system resources and disk usage though but leave it running unattended at night and it'll easily complete those long downloads. I do recommend downloading to another HD rather than your system disk, as it can make other applications crawl.
Nzbd For Mac
I use MacPAR deLuxe for my unRAR/PAR needs. Can't ask for a betting app IMO. 'newsleecher' just letting everyone know, the best 'newsleecher' for mac is SABnzbd, it is an app that runs through safari as an adressed server.

On there you can configure your settings for any news group and enter a username n password if needed. It also unpacks n unrars files for you. If need be, it will use pars to repair files for you. You can find it here. This app has changed my life lol i get all of my nzbs from NZBMatrix.com the server i use is giganews.com-greatest server in the world.Yes, i do pay money monthly, but the amount of 'nzb's i download daily, PAYS OFF if anyone has any more questions just let me know by sending me a pm or reply on here.
Newsleecher For Mac Osx
Click to expand. It is not the same thing, and what the OP is asking for is a feature I asked Panic about that they said they may implement in a future version. Simultaneous downloads!= simultaneous connections When Newsleecher opens an nzb and goes to download something, it will use 10 connections (in the case of giganews non-ssl, for example) per file at a time. Unison doesn't do that, it will download 10 separate files at a time but it won't make 10 connections for one file. There is no mac equivalent of Newsleecher, sadly.

I use NZBDrop, though, which does have this particular feature, but it doesn't hold a candle to Newsleecher with smartselect and super search.
